GoGo Yubari Mace:
Light, strong 5" mace based on Kill Bill's GoGo Yubari mace.
Construction Notes: If you want a hard to find weapon crafted for a convention or party email me the details and we can work out a price: mike@fantasyprops.com This is a private commission based on the mace used by GoGo Yubari in Tarantino's 'Kill Bill'. The goal of this one was a light, but reasonably durable weapon that can pass fairly strict convention guidelines. It's carved foam sealed with three layers of epoxy resin. The chain is real, but the spikes are just wood. I hollowed out the center and embedded a long eyescrew with bondo putty. This gives the prop a little bit of needed weight as well as strengthening the chains hold. This prop can be swung wildly with no ill effect on the basic structural integrity. Don't hit anyone tho.... this is foam but those spikes are wood. Ouchie. I did a slight aged pewter looking finish with latex acrylic and Luma inks. Seal it with Rustoleum clear flat and you have a handsome convention prop. Tools: 1"extruded polystyrene foam (pink insulation from Home Depot), 3/4" wood dowel, 1/4" wood dowel, medium and small chain, Bondo putty, 6" retractable utility knife, several grits of sandpaper, epoxy resin, foam board adhesive, dremel tool, acrylic paints, clear spray sealer, Luma inks, airbrush |
