Ivy Sword:

Construction Notes:

If you want a hard to find weapon crafted for a convention or party email me the details and we can work out a price: mike@fantasyprops.com

First I sculpted the handle in foam, then sealed it good and made molds. I cast fiberglass into the molds for a nice solid handle. The sword segments are all carved foam, coated with anout 6 layers of vanillacryl and 4 layers of spray truckbed liner. The whip tube is 3/8" vinly tubing with a thick copper wire run down the center so it's 'posable' :). Finishing touch is a nice paintjob and a set of pretty green cast resin gems on the hilt.

Tools: Sculpting foam, fiberglass resin jelly, sampaper, palm sander, vinyl tubing, vanillacryl, etc.
