Streeling Gauntlet:
Do you need a piece of body armor for your costume? I can make you one, as simple or as complex as it needs to be. Email me for pricing and availability: mike@fantasyprops.com Construction Notes: This one is currently under construction. I'm making this for 2 reasons. 1: to make people go "Oh, I need something like that for my costume!, and 2: because I've always wanted cool body armor :). As you can see this is a 'full forearm' model. Next step will be to make a silicone casting from this. Then I'll cast the actual gauntlet in polyester resin w/ fiberglass cloth so it'll be light and very strong. I plan on painting it to look like antique bronze and putting an L.E.D. under a colored gem in the center. Eventually three 'horn' spikes made from fiberglass resin will also be added to the three protrusions to make this gauntlet look more dangerous. Tools: Polystyrene foam (that pink stuff from Home Depot), 6" retractable utility knife, foamboard adhesive, Silicone rubber, plaster of paris, modeling clayfiles, dremel tool, hand sander, acrylic paints, Krylon Fusion spraypaint, clear flat spraypaint, airbrush, Luma inks, casting resin, casting resin color, heavy-duty marine glue, small L.E.D. light |
