Gaara Gourd:

Construction Notes:

If you want a hard to find weapon crafted for a convention or party email me the details and we can work out a price: mike@fantasyprops.com

I made this prop by starting with two rubber balls since I wanted the finished prop to be durable and light (hollow). I connected the balls with a thick layer of spray foam in the middle that I sculpted to curve in. I glued that on with the strongest epoxy cement I could find. Next I coated the whole thing with fiberglass resin jelly and cloth. Sanded it smooth and painted it. I used a coat of beige and then gave it a coat of sandstone texture paint so it has a lovely velvet-sand texture to the touch. The lip on top is carved foam sealed with truckbed liner spray and attached with silicone. Finished it off w/ handpainted MWM's and it's good to go.

Tools: Rubber balls, insulation foam, fiberglass resin jelly, fiberglass cloth, sandpaper, palm sander, paint.
